Education of tomorrow’s doctors and allied health professionals regarding palliative (comfort-oriented) and hospice care is crucial to achieving improved quality of life for those at the end of life. Currently, too many hospice patients are referred very late by their physician and do not benefit from the intensive support hospice care can provide.
